Universally it is known Health is Multidimensional On 7th April 1948 WHO envisaged definition of Health on three specific dimensions the physical, the mental and the social , as the knowledge base is growing we have been expanding the dimensions to spiritual, vocational, political but each has its own nature and descriptive purpose and should be treated separately.
With the three basic dimensions of WHO we can achieve health because healthy individuals constitute a healthy family ,which in turn , creates a healthy society .
Take the self assessment on these dimensions to know your Health
Signs of Good Physical health:
- Good complexion
- Clean skin
- Good appetite
- Bright eyes
- Lustrous hair
- Body with firm flesh
- Not too fat
- Sweet breath
- Sound sleep
- Regular activity of bowels & bladder
- Smooth, easy , coordinated bodily movements
like Physical health we do not have a precise tool to assess the state of Mental health
As an individual if you have the ability to respond to the many varied experiences of life with flexibility and sense of purpose you have a good mental health.
And Social health can be assessed by
- The level of the individual social skills
- The ability to see yourself as a member of a larger society
Daily practices required to achieve the Physical, Mental & Social Health is
- Healthy Meal plate
- Adequate sleep
- Regular Exercise
- Relax & Rejuvenate
- Adequate water Intake
- Maintaining meaningful relationship with the family and society
So practising these three health dimensions in daily life will help us to achieve the WELL BEING and allows us to be away from disease or infirmity .
Let’s not forget the saying “If wealth is lost, nothing is lost; if health is lost , everything is lost.” Therefore, Health is indeed the true Wealth
